Our Mission Statement
"Bridgeville EC Church will rely on the Word of God to transform lives and makes disciples in the communities in which we live."
What is a Mission Statement?
A Mission Statement answers the question: "How?". If we want to accomplish our Vision Statement of "Cultivating a Community for Christ", then we also must decide how we are going to do that. So, we will: "Cultivate a Community for Christ" by "relying on the Word of God to transform lives and make disciples in the communities in which we live".
What This Means
If we are going to "rely on the Word of God to transform lives and make disciples in the communities in which we live", then that means we must go about doing so in the way Jesus commanded us to do it. Our best explanation for what this looks like is to use as our example Jesus last words to His own disciples:
"18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
